The University of Georgia anticipates hiring a technician to conduct routine monitoring duties for our new Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) program focused on estuarine and salt marsh ecology. Duties will include installing and maintaining boardwalks; installing, maintaining, calibrating and downloading weather stations and hydrological stations; and assisting a variety of scientists with field research. The ideal candidate will be experienced with estuarine research, operation of weather stations and/or hydrological stations, and the use of small boats. The position will require strenuous physical activity and irregular hours. The applicant must be willing to relocate to coastal Georgia and to make at least a 2-year commitment (initial funding will last 6 years).
