Graduate Students

Prospective Graduate Students:
I currently have three graduate students working in my lab.  I encourage students to work on some aspect of my current research projects, but I am also open to other ideas.  I do not have much funding so I expect that my students will TA during the academic year.

Current Students:

Zach Siegrist

Rachel Allee Effects of anoxic conditions on thermal tolerance and stress protein levels in four local bivalves

Jonathan Robinson  Effects of wave force on the energetics of the keyhole limpet Diodora aspera

Former Students:

Deborah Purce  (2007)
Comparative ecophysiology of two geographically separated populations of the scallop Nodipecten subnodosus

Jason Hall  (2005)
Color variability in the sponge Halichondria panicea (Demospongiae) and its impacts on the nudibranch Archidoris montereyensis (Archidorididae)

Scott Cowan  (2005)
The effects of wave force, temperature, and emersion on adhesion time in the limpet, Lottia pelta

Michael Thimgan  (2005)
The effects of wave force and period on the energy expenditure of the intertidal marine gastropod Scutus antipodes.

Jeannie Gilbert (2005)
A seasonal study of the benthic invertebrate communities of the Samish River estuary.

James Selleck  (2003)
Comparative reproductive events of the invasive Varnish clam, Nuttalia obscurata, and the fisheries Littleneck clam, Venerupis philippinarum.

Heather Farren (2002)
Protections conferred by sponge epibionts on the scallop Chlamys hastata:  Effects on barnacle encrustation and sea star predation.

Christopher May (2002)
Effects of wave period and force on tenacity of Acmaea mitra, the Whitecap limpet.

Sandra Caldwell (2001)
Energetics of crawling and swimming in the hooded nudibranch Melibe leonina.
